A BILTMORE CHRISTMAS 4 Days / December 15 The Biltmore Estate is the largest and one of the most beautiful homes ever built in America; immerse yourself in holiday grandeur! Day 1. We travel today through Illinois, Indiana and into Kentucky. During the summer of 1908, Nellie Frost, the wife of Berea College President William G. Frost, provided lodging and meals at her home for some 300 guests. It was time, she told her husband, to build a guest house for the College’s visitors. The suggestion became a reality in 1909 when what was to become the Boone Tavern Hotel was opened. You enjoy a historical dinner at the hotel this evening. Lodging: Boone Tavern Hotel, Berea, KY Day 2. Following breakfast at the hotel, we travel on to Asheville, NC and have a buffet brunch at Deerpark Restaurant located in the Biltmore Estate. This afternoon, we enjoy “A Dickens Christmas – Christmas in the Village”. At this annual event, strolling entertainers in period costumes add to your holiday shopping in the quaint village shops. We have a special evening planned; a Candlelight Christmas Evening at The Biltmore Estate. The evening enchantment begins as candlelight and firelight transform the elegant rooms of the Biltmore House into a vision of beauty and warmth. Choirs and musicians perform holiday favorites, filling the halls of America’s largest home with yuletide cheer. You have plenty of time to enjoy Biltmore House’s extraordinary holiday décor at your own pace. Lodging: Comfort Suites, Ashville, NC Day 3. We have breakfast at the hotel; then enjoy a Historic Trolley Tour of Asheville, sightseeing aboard beautiful state-of-the-art touring trolleys. We see the best of Asheville on board a vintage trolley and have a 75-minute narrated tour covering all major points of interest in Asheville. Your guide will combine humorous stories and historical information into a fun filled tour. We then travel on to Nashville, TN for a dinner cruise, “Uncle Scrooge’s Christmas Banquet”, aboard the General Jackson Showboat. Lodging: Country Inn & Suites, Nashville, TN Day 4. Following breakfast, we begin our journey home filled with special memories and holiday cheer. Included meals: 3 Breakfasts 1 Brunch 2 Dinners
