CANYONLANDS 10 Days / July 14 Some of the world’s most spectacular scenery and awesome natural wonders are found in our country’s national parks. See the beauty of Zion, Bryce, Arches, Monument Valley, the Colorado Rocky Mountains and Grand Canyon! Day 1. Today we begin an adventure that will take us through breathtakingly beautiful canyons carved by Mother Nature herself! We will get acquainted with our fellow travelers as we sit back and watch the changing scenery. Lodging: Drury Inn & Suites, Joplin, MO Day 2. Following breakfast at our hotel, we travel on past the oil rigs of Oklahoma and into the panhandle of Texas. The evening’s entertainment includes a western dinner and the drama, “Texas”. We settle in late tonight at our hotel. Lodging: Drury Inn & Suites, Amarillo, TX Day 3. Following breakfast at our hotel, we travel to Albuquerque. Our highlights of this day are a photo op at Cadillac Ranch and a visit to Old Towne Albuquerque. Lodging: Hampton Inn West, Gallup, NM Day 4. We have a full hot breakfast at our hotel. Our timing allows us to view the morning life of the Arizona Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. Later this afternoon we arrive at Grand Canyon where you view the wonder and the splendor of this magnificent creation. Lodging: Yavapai East, Grand Canyon, AZ Day 5. Today we take a scenic drive around the eastern edge of the canyon and Lake Powellinto Utah. Lodging: Holiday Inn Express, Kanab, UT (2 nights) Day 6. We have breakfast at our hotel; then depart early. We enjoy fabulous scenery as we travel via tram through Zion National Park, a spectacular natural wonder. This afternoon we have a scenic drive through Bryce Canyon National Park. Day 7. Following breakfast at our hotel, our coach takes us through the magnificent landscape of eastern Utah. We travel through the Navajo Reservation and MonumentValley. This afternoon, we arrive at the foot of the red cliffs and the La Sal Mountains in Moab. We drive through the awesome ArchesNational Parkin late afternoon – one of the best times for photographing the red rock spires, fins, arches and window formations. Lodging: Comfort Suites, Moab, UT Day 8. After breakfast,we depart Moab and travel east. We will skirt the Arches National Park, pass along the northern edge of the Colorado National Monument, the Grand Mesa, greet the Colorado Rocky Mountains, then through the beautiful Glenwood Canyon. Our break this afternoon will be in the ski resort area. Lodging: Drury Inn – Denver Tech, Englewood, CO Day 9. Following breakfast at the hotel, we depart the Denver area this morning and continue our journey east into the wheat fields of Kansas. Lodging: Comfort Inn, Junction City, KS Day 10. After breakfast, we depart Kansas, arriving home this afternoon with memories and photos of the beautiful Canyonlands of America’s Southwest. Included meals: 8 Continental or Full Breakfasts 1 Dinner
