One Day Get-A-Way Policies

Capitol Tours appreciates your participation in our one-day trip program. Please note the following guidelines.  For the comfort of all our passengers there will be no smoking allowed on the coach.  Our one-day trips depart from the Capital City Shopping Center in Springfield.  Fullpayment for a tour must be received within seven (7) days of the reservation.  Should you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please contact our office as soon as possible to see if there is a wait list.  There are no refunds on one-day tours unless the tour is full and we are able to re-sell your seat.  You may sell or transfer your  reservation to another person.  If this occurs, please contact our office as soon as possible to change the name (s) on the reservation prior to the trip’s departure.  For tours that include specific attractions that are weather or schedule dependent (ie: sporting events, concerts or outdoor attractions) where the possibility exists for cancellation and cancellation does occur, Capitol Tours cannot be held liable nor responsible for refunds for these events once the tour is underway.  Passengers may request a refund from the event supplier directly, but transportation fees will not be refunded.

Transportation only. Chicago’s Museum Campus houses the Museum of Natural History (which houses many terrific exhibits on Egypt, the Polynesian cultures, Underground Adventure, some special traveling exhibits and Sue, the world-renowned T-Rex) , or visit Adler Planetarium and the Shedd Aquarium.  Enjoy your day at your choice of any of the three museums at this location.  We will also offer stops at Museum of Science & Industry, Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue.  Field Museum has a new exhibit: “Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids”.  Take that special little girl to American Girl Place for lunch and shopping.

Bring your cooler along as well as your appetite today as we enjoy a taste of St. Louis!  We will stop at Soulard Market (your cooler will hold your purchases here), then we are off for a tour of Anheuser-Busch Brewery & gift shop. We visit the Clydesdale Stables and Paddock, Beechwood Aging Cellars, Brewhouse, and Bevo Packaging Plant. The tour concludes in the Hospitality Room, where complimentary samples of Anheuser-Busch products are offered.  Our next stop is for an included Brunch Buffet at Bevo Mill Restaurant. Menu:  roast beef, chicken, fish, vegetables, sauerbraten, Banana Fosters, cheesecakes, French Toast, assorted salads, fresh fruit, assorted desserts, juice, coffee, tea, soda & much more. Then we visit Trader Joe’s – Chesterfield, MO. This store has managed to woo and addict legions of local shoppers with a friendly, knowledgeable staff and low-priced foods and beverages that are organic, gourmet and/or imported.  We will end our day with Eckert’s Country Store & Farm – Belleville, IL.

Marvel at the breathtaking fall foliage and enjoy three of Missouri’s finest wineries. Beginning with Stone Hill Winery of Hermann, MO we have included lunch: German-style Schnitzel-a breaded pork cutlet, served with delicious sour cream dill sauce, German potato salad, and braised red cabbage.  Then we tour Missouri’s oldest and most awarded winery, Stone Hill Winery, with tasting then browse in the Wine & Gift Shop among an array of unique wine-related items.  Taking scenic Hwy 100 to Robller Vineyard of New Haven, we sample more local wines. Just west of St. Louis on Hwy 94, Sugar Creek Winery is a favorite gathering place for wine enthusiasts. Sample their world-class wines and relax on the terrace overlooking the stately river bluffs and fields of French and American hybrid grapes.  There’s live music in the gazebo, tasty snacks and spirited conversation – a perfect recipe for a memorable outing.
