NEW ENGLAND FALL FOLIAGE 9 Days / September 24 New England in the fall; you will not see more beautiful foliage anywhere! Day 1. We board our deluxe motorcoach to begin a visit to the “Currier & Ives” country that is filled with nostalgic scenes of New England. Lodging: Hampton Inn, Dearborn, MI Day 2. You will need to have your documentation for customs today; we are headed to Canada! Following breakfast at the hotel, we depart early this morning. There is something very majestic and magical about the cascading waters, the misty spray and thunderous roar that makes Niagara Falls a sight enjoyed by all. Your tour director and local guide will share interesting facts and remarkable stories about this phenomenal site. Lodging: Comfort Inn, Niagara Falls, ON, Canada Day 3. Adirondack Park, largest in the United States, covers nearly two-thirds of New York State and in autumn Jack Frost paints most of it red! We take time in Lake Placid to enjoy the views along Mirror Lake, take a stroll and explore the shops. Lodging: Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort & Suites, Lake Placid, NY Day 4. We board a large ferry to travel across Lake Champlain to Vermont. The view from this mammoth lake is spectacular. The Shelburne Museum, situated on 45 rolling acres, is an outdoor museum with 35 lovingly restored buildings housing world famous collections of art and memorabilia from the 18th and 19th centuries. Lodging: Best Western Windjammer, So. Burlington, VT Day 5. We pause in our travels through this autumn wonderland to have a photo op at the Capitol in Montpelier, VT and to visit Morse Farm to tour the Sugar House and taste Sugar on Snow. Across the Connecticut River we enter New Hampshire to travel through the famous Franconia Notch. Our accommodations are nearby in a wonderful resort in the White Mountainswith included dinner and entertainment. Lodging: Indian Head Resort, Lincoln, NH Day 6. Following breakfast at the resort, we enjoy the view from Castle in the Clouds. Lunch is included today as we travel on to Boston. This afternoon, we pick up our step-on guide for the “Historic Boston, The Freedom Trail & Charleston” tour. The tour ends at Quincy Market, a “must-do” in Boston. Lodging: Hampton Inn, Chicopee, MA Day 7. Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Today in the scenic Hudson River Valley, we pause in Hyde Park to visit the home, library and gravesite of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Late this afternoon we travel into Pennsylvania. Lodging: Hampton Inn, Allentown, PA Day 8. We have breakfast at the hotel; then travel to Hershey, PA. Hershey’s Chocolate World provides a unique automated ride through the simulated world of chocolate from plantation to syrup and candy. We enter the Pennsylvania Turnpike to travel through the fall foliage of the Allegheny Mountain Range. A farewell dinner is included this evening. Lodging: Hampton Inn, Zanesville, OH Day 9. After breakfast at the hotel we begin our journey home. We arrive late this afternoon with memories of a very “colorful vacation experience”!
