DOOR COUNTY, WISCONSIN 4 Days / June 3 4 Days / September 9 “Cape Cod of the Midwest”- quaint fishing villages, rugged shoreline with steep limestone bluffs, sandy beaches edged with dark pine forests – picture postcard sights! Day 1. The journey today is pleasant as you have an opportunity to meet your traveling friends aboard the comfort of our motorcoach. We enjoy dinner this evening at Mink River Basin in Ellison Bay, WI. Our motel is in the heart of Door County with spectacular views. Lodging: Nordic Lodge, Sister Bay, WI (3 nights) Day 2. A continental breakfast is included this morning and every morning of this tour. We leave the mainland to travel via ferry to Washington Island, settled by the Icelanders in 1869. A narrated tour to see the fishing villages, included lunch, and shopping is on our agenda today. This evening we return to the mainland for a traditional Door County Fish Boil at the Sandpiper. Day 3. Picturesque villages, art centers, shops, sandy beaches, lighthouses and rolling wooded hills are only a part of our day. A local guide will point out highlights of the area. Upon returning to the mainland, we make a stop at Bea’s Ho-Made Products with an opportunity to purchase their wonderful jams, jellies, pickles and baked items. Our next stop is at Al Johnson’s to see the goats on the roof and to check out their special gift shop. Bring your camera or buy a local postcard. No one will believe you were in a place with goats grazing on the roof! Dinner this evening is at a very good local restaurant, English Inn. Day 4. We head home today filled with wonderful memories of a special destination and a special vacation. Included meals: 3 Continental Breakfasts 1 Lunch 3 Dinners
